Bioengineering Course 2023 is that branch of science that deals with engineering principles of design and analysis to biological systems and biomedical technologies. Some of the top examples of this field of engineering includes bacteria engineered to produce chemicals, portable disease diagnostic devices, new medical imaging technology, and tissue engineered organs.

The students who pursue this course get to study about both biology and engineering, which may include elements of electrical and mechanical engineering, computer science, materials science, chemistry, and biology. The jobs that the students get from this course is in the area of academia, medicine and a wide variety of industries. 

This course deals with the application of principles of biology and the tools of engineering to create usable, tangible, economically-viable products. Some of the many topics introduced in this course includes kinetics, mass and heat transfer, biomechanics,biocatalysts, bioinformatics, separation and purification processes, surface science, bioreactor design, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and polymer science. 

This course is used in the design of medical devices, biocompatible materials, diagnostic equipment,  ecological engineering, renewable energy, process engineering and catalysis, agricultural engineering, and other areas that improve the living standards of societies. 

If it is to be explained in the simplest language, the biological engineers attempt to either mimic biological systems to create products or to modify and control biological systems. These engineers can either be working with the doctors, clinicians, and researchers, or even with the bioengineers to use traditional engineering principles and techniques to address biological processes, including ways to replace, augment, sustain, or predict chemical and mechanical processes. 

The degree which the students will get in this course is BS in engineering. The fundamental courses in this principle include biology, thermodynamics, biomechanics, fluid and mechanical dynamics, genetic engineering, chemical and enzyme kinetics, electronics, and materials properties.

Lots of reports have suggested that the demand of this course is predicted to rise to 23 percent between 2014 to 2024. However, biomedical engineers work are working towards developing technology that is less painful for patients. This is the kind of technology the world needs and is progressing towards, so it is always going to be on a high. 

Every day new ways are devised to do blood tests, screening for infectious diseases and in genetics. Hence, this ensures that things will keep growing with the advent and growth of technology and jobs of it will increase massively. 

The designing and construction of devices such as defibrillators, cardiac pacemakers, blood oxygenators, artificial kidneys, prosthetic hearts, and joints are increasing and this ensures the increase in the demand of this course and jobs. 

Course Eligiblity

Bio Engineering Eligibility 

UG students: For the UG level students who are planning a course as a Bachelor of Biotechnology in biomedical engineering, they have passed the higher secondary school certificate (10+2) examination with science subjects such as biology, maths, and chemistry.

PG students: For the PG level students who are planning a course masters in biomedical engineering must have done their bachelor of engineering or bachelor of technology or equivalent in Biomedical or Medical Electronics or Electrical and Electronics or Electronics and Communication or Electronics and Telecommunication or Instrumentation Engineering.

The students are also supposed to give entrance level exams like JEE MAIN, JEE Advanced, NEET, GATE, GPAT, VITEEE, Uttarakhandd JEEP.
