NLSIU Bangalore Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for admission to the National Law School of India University (NLSIU) Bangalore are as follows:

1. For the 5-Year B.A.LL.B: • Candidates should have passed the Class 10+2 (or equivalent) examination with 45% aggregate marks. • Candidates should be 19 years or above of age.

2. For the 3-Year LLB: • Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% aggregated marks. • There is no age limit for applicants. In addition to the eligibility criteria mentioned above, all the applicants should also appear for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT).

The selection criteria for the National Law School of India University, Bangalore is based on the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). The National Law School of India University, Bangalore (NLSIU) offers numerous scholarships to their students. • The State Merit Scholarships: Students who are domiciled/residing in Karnataka can apply for this scholarship program. The selection process for this scholarship will be based strictly on merit, and only those who have secured a rank in the top three are eligible for this program.

• Sir M V Scholarships: These scholarships are offered to students from economically weaker backgrounds, and is focused towards encouraging scholar excellence from the minority communities.

• Prof. N.R. Madhava Menon Scholarships: This scholarship is provided to those students who have secured first rank in the LL.M. Course. The award amount is Rs. 10,000/-

The National Law School of India University, Bangalore has 10 hostels – 6 hostels for men and 4 hostels for women.

For men, the hostels are: Kamaraj Hostel, Gandhi Hostel, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hostel, Tagore Hostel, Ambedkar Hostel and Nehru Hostel.

For women, the hostels are Vidya Mandir Hostel, Sarojini Hostel, Golconda Hostel and Razia Sultan Hostel. Each hostel consists of single, double and triple occupancy rooms. All the rooms are air-conditioned and have basic amenities along with Wi-Fi connectivity. The rooms have attached bathrooms.
