The Dr B.R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar, often referred to as NITJ or NIT Jalandhar, is one of India's top technological universities. Originally founded as a Regional Engineering College in 1987, it was renamed in honour of the well-known Indian jurist, economist, and social reformer Dr B.R. Ambedkar in 2002 and awarded the status of a National Institute of Technology.
