In 1930, an educational conference was held in Banasthali to discuss the same, and Pandit Hiralal Shastri was appointed as the chairman of the conference. In October 1935, the Banasthali Vidyapith was established in the village of Banasthali, near Jaipur. It was initially a small school with just 25 students and two teachers. Over the years, the Vidyapith has grown into a fully-fledged university catering to the educational needs of thousands of women.
