JEE Main 2026: IIIT Hyderabad UGEE Admission Without 75%
Table of Contents
A flexible admissions approach for JEE Main 2026 candidates has recently been offered by IIIT Hyderabad. Traditionally, candidates needed at least 75% marks in class 12 or be in the top 20 percentile of their board to be eligible. However, by applying through the Undergraduate Engineering Entrance Examination (UGEE), candidates can now obtain admission without meeting the 75% requirement.
About UGEE
IIIT Hyderabad's entrance exam, UGEE, is intended to assess students' analytical, logical, and problem-solving skills. Candidates who might not meet the traditional board percentage criteria nevertheless have an equal opportunity to compete for spots in the B.Tech program thanks to this exam. Talented students won't be turned away because of stringent board mark standards thanks to the UGEE route.
Eligibility and Selection
To apply through UGEE, students must have finished their 12th grade or equivalent from a recognized board. Counseling and document verification come after passing the UGEE as part of the selection process. This method is especially advantageous for students from boards where marking patterns are rigorous or for those who thrive in ability and problem-solving rather than rote memory.
Benefits of the UGEE Pathway
This program guarantees that competent students are not disqualified based on percentage criteria, promotes merit-based selection, and improves accessibility. It expands chances for a wide range of candidates while reflecting IIIT Hyderabad's dedication to academic achievement.
