The Staff Selection Commission Combined Higher Secondary Level (SSC CHSL) exam is a competitive examination conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) in India for the recruitment of candidates to various posts in government ministries, departments, and organizations. The SSC CHSL exam is aimed at filling positions such as Lower Divisional Clerk (LDC), Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA), Postal Assistant (PA), Sorting Assistant (SA), and Data Entry Operator (DEO) across various government bodies.

The exam is held annually and is divided into three stages: the Tier-I, Tier-II, and Tier-III exams. The Tier-I examination is a Computer-Based Test (CBT) comprising multiple-choice questions covering subjects such as General Intelligence, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Language. It assesses the candidate's general aptitude and knowledge and typically lasts for one hour. Candidates who clear Tier-I are eligible to appear for Tier-II, which is a Descriptive Paper. This paper evaluates the candidate's writing skills through essay writing, letter writing, or application writing.

The final stage, Tier-III, is a Skill Test or Typing Test depending on the post applied for. For Data Entry Operators, a Skill Test is conducted to assess their data entry speed and accuracy, while for other posts, a Typing Test is administered to evaluate typing speed. Eligibility for the SSC CHSL exam requires candidates to have completed their 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized board. The age limit generally ranges from 18 to 27 years, with age relaxations applicable for reserved categories.

Successful candidates in all tiers of the examination are selected based on their performance, and they are appointed to various posts based on merit and preference. The SSC CHSL exam is highly competitive, with thousands of candidates vying for limited positions, making thorough preparation essential. It offers a stable career in the Indian government sector with various benefits and opportunities for growth.
